TF measurement High Power Coil Driver

Date: 2023/01/27

With: Dan Chen

We started the transfer function measurement for IM and MN stage High power coil drivers.

The measured data will be uploaded to the CAL wiki.

Note: Since we have to measure TF for each coil in 4 different states, we left our setup (after cleaning up a bit) near the rack. We will continue this measurement when the suspension is in the SAFE state next time (Friday).

Overview:

We continued the measurement of the high-power coil driver for MN and IM.

Detail:

We measured the transfer function of H1-H3 and V1-V3 coil drivers for IM and MN.

All transfer functions were measured in four different states:

  • state1: low-pass filters off
  • state2: 1st stage LPF is on
  • state3: 1st and 2nd stage LPFs are on
  • state4: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd stage LPFs are on.

The measured data will be uploaded to the CAL wiki.

Note: We left our setup next to the rack as we will measure the TM coil drivers transfer function and anti-imaging filters this Friday.

Overview:

We concluded the transfer function measurement for high power coil driver and ant-imaging filter. We also measured the coil inductances.

Details:

TF High Power Coil Driver: Since there was no satellite box for the TM coil driver, we prepared a conversion box (fig. 1) and measured the transfer function for H1-H4 high-power driver.

Similar to report 23769, we measured TF in four states.

Furthermore, we measured the TF of H1-H3 and V1-V3 coil drivers for IM and MN with 3.0 V excitation from 100-100,000 Hz.

TF Anti-imaging Filter: We measured the TF of the anti-imaging filter (fig. 2) for each of the coils for TM, IM and MN.

Note: We found that quite a few of the screw slots of Dsub cables and chassis had damage (fig. 3).
