Preparation for BB damper adjustment

We started the preparation for the adjustment of the breadboard (BB) damper. The laser displacement sensor was set to the X+ side of the BB. The BB was released temporally. The measured spectrum showed a 0.44Hz resonance of the BB suspension.

We adjusted the breadboard (BB) damper. The stop screws for the BB were released. The original gap between the Cu ring (upper stage of BB) and the damper ring (magnet base) was 17.5mm. The thickness of the damping magnets is 12mm. We changed the gap from 17.5mm to 15mm and 14.5mm. The plot shows the spectra of the BB displacement measured by the laser displacement sensor. The 0.44Hz peak in the 14.5mm gap was reduced by 83% from the peak in the original gap. The damping time was still 100~200sec in the 14.5mm gap.
