Finally we started the alignment work of IMC!!
1. MC REFL optical bench temporal installation
The IMC REFL optical bench (temporal one) has been installed. It's just for the dumping of IMC REFL beam so far. The position is decided as the REFL beam go over the center of the table roughly and the bench does not disturb any work about alignment and so on. also I adjusted the levelness.
One beam dump was putted on the optical bench for dumping the MCi reflection.
2. injection beam alignment
The input beam was centered on the MCi mirror roughly. The procedure is below.
- Aligned the incident beam as that hit the one edge of the mirror by the output mirror in the PSL room.
- Adjusted the laser height as that hits the stand off of MCi mirror
- Remember the angle of the output mirror (yaw). We used the point written on the screw for changing yaw angle of the mirror mount.
- Aligned the incident beam so as that hit the other edge of the mirror.
- Bring back to the center of two edges.
And then the beam was aligned to be horizontal finely with auto level. The output mirror height was adjusted to same level as the MCi standoff before, so we adjusted the beam height just before the MCi mirror to standoff height.
3. Reflection beams alignment
Also with auto level, the reflections from MCi and MCo was aligned to be horizontal. We moved the pitch of MCi and MCo mirrors so as that reflections became same height as the height of standoff of MCi. With making the output beam polarization low finesse polarization the transmission beam from MCi can detected by sensor card easily.
4. Beam dump of MCi installation.
We could see the ghost beams from MCI, so two beam dumps has been installed into the chamber.
I didn't mention about the yaw in this report, but it 'seems' not very bad. We would see tomorrow with a MCe mirror.
