Summary
Turned off some equipments around the input area and saw the DARM reactoin. Some might improve, but not fully sure due to periodical glitches, which may be due to cooling of the mirrors. Try again after the mirror temperature will get in equilibrium.
Details
It was mostly a random-attack way. Once we turned off
- FFU in front of the PSL preparation room.
- FFU above MCF
- FFU above MCE
- FFU above IFI-IMM-PRM
- FFU above PR3
And we also sometimes touched around the relevant chambers, made sound, and so on to see the responses in DARM. As mentioned above, there were oftern glitch-like behaviors in DARM, so it was a little bit difficult to say which touching might affect what clearly. What we learnt were
- Some metal plates (lids to drains) on the floor might be related to increase of the noise. But rather it might be due to sound made by stepping on the lids.
- I touched intensively around (1) the duct connecting PSL and MCF, (2) ISS table (3) IMM, IFI, MCF, MCE chambers, (4) MCE trans table, but found no significant repsonses ---of course, if I touched them to the level that the noise could be seen in DARM, it was, but it would not be a fair way to do this kind of inspection. I also went above the booth and touched the IMM, IFI, MCF chambers from the top, but not so significant. I also touched the large GV head between MCF and IFI chambers, but no so significant.
Anyway, the attached figre shows some "differences" maybe due to the turning off/on. Blue is taken when some equipments were turned off in the morning today, while red and brown are snapshot examples from in a stable operation in the evening today.
Note
- It might be better to do this after the mirror cooling will finish, as the gliches may be due to the severe temperature gradient due to the ongoing cooling (I am not sure)
- It might be nice to make a table or figure to grasp what kinds of equipments are in operation in the tunnel first.
- I am a little bit worried about some electric racks and coiling calbes right above the duct between IFI-IMM as a cause of acousitc noise.
- Also worried about the way some goods are located --- some of them are leaning against the other goods, but it seems not so stable --- it might be possible that they may be slide off and may make large sound during the observation run.
