Today:
* We asked Kokeyama-san about the screen issue from yesterday and she said it was probably due to Yamamoto-san's work on the remote EPICS project. Things had improved: we were still seeing the crossed-circle cursor when we tried to click on some controls, but clicking now took effect.
* We improved the OSEM adjustment by moving H3 axially, and H1 axially and a little to +Y.
* We tested the alignment by inserting the EQ stop screws between IM and IRM and got very little perturbation and no OSEMs touching.
* We did a calibration of the SF LVDT using the SF FR. We noticed a discontinuity in the graph and traced it to the fact that the SF yoke was not firmly attached: the puller screws were holding it at the right height, but the puller screws were not done up at all! (This situation must have been left over from the Test Hang because we didn't touch the SF.)
* We tightened the SF yoke screws and repeated the calibration.
* We put offsets on in the GAS TEST MEDM screens to confirm the BF and SF LVDT actuation was working.
* We removed the PEEK piece we had been using as a target on the SF keystone to measure the height with the camera, and blew any dust out of the SF.
* We craned in the SF cap.
* We craned in the load gauge adapter, added the chain block, load gauge and maraging rod adapter, and tried to measure the weight of the SF/... section.
* However the old 7-mm maraging rod adapter did not sit very centrally in the new 8-mm receptacle of the SF cap, so the SF had an unacceptable tilt. Therefore we repeated the measurement with a sling and two eyebolts.
* The SF/... section was 309.2 kg with the originally intended ballast masses on the SF cap and 308.4 without them. This is about right given that we still need to add the hex cable clamp and route cables.
* Because we were fairly close to the right weight (so that we are unlikely to have to remove the cap again) and because of the maraging rod issue, we decided to go straight to adding the PI.
* We rearranged the top of the assembly frame, removing the top crossbars and moving the three large jacks down one level.
* We craned in the PI, adding the SF damper magnet ring and the poles for the SF-PI section of the security structure while the PI was in midair.
* We adjusted the SF damper ring to have a gap of about 5 mm between Cu and magnets. (We need to double-check the correct value.)
