We replaced the damaged OMC DCPDs with new ones.
The procedure was following:
- Lock the OMC suspension.
- Remove the diodes from the holders using a tweezer (see the attached photo).
- Measure the length of the diode pins, which was 8mm.
- Cut the pins of the new diodes to 8mm.
- Cut open the can of the new diodes. It took 30min for the first one and 1h40min for the second one.
- Insert the new diodes into the holders using a long nose plier.
As reported here, the PD dark noise seems fine now. Also we confirmed that the OMC can be locked in air.
