TMSY finalization for in-vac use: Day 1

Hirata, Akutsu

Summary

After the installation of TMSY-VIS, we finally started to finalize the whole beam reducing telescope for Y to be usable in the vacuum environment. As a frist step, we inserted several metal gaskets (Fig. 1), and peeled off some remenant labels from the in-vac entities.

Notes and To do

  • We found many labels were left on the body to be in vacuum! (Figs. 2, 3, and 4). Actually, today would be the fisrt time to think of making BRT-Y to be in vacuum seriously, so this kind of homework might be natural, but.... anyway, today we peeled off such labels as much as possible. Even though some of such labels were almost impossible to access, I did it. But maybe I need to have more time to seriously check if any other leftover labels. Maybe I'd like to use fiber camera and so on...
  • Some dummy masses on the top of the suspended table are not yet fixied! (Fig. 5) Maybe I would search for my klog posts in the past to find such notes, these facts have been evapolated from my brain...
  • Anyway, as mentioned in the summary, we inserted metal gaskets to three franges with signal connectors, and pressed the franges with only two each screws. The more serious sealing should be done later.
  • Before our work, I checked the output of LVDTs and geophones, and found that the GeoH1 shows very small but nice S/N and nice coherent signals with others... and after our work, such low gain seemed gone and GeoH1 seemed healthy. Hmmm.... let's see... just disconnecting the cable and reconnecting it again made this healthy??? I have no idea.
