Rebooter installation and network changes for pico motor drivers. (POP,POS)
[Hirata,Nakagaki]

We conducted a site survey to determine the location of the mini-rack that will house the POP and POS pico drivers and rebooters, as well as the network wiring to be used.

The mini-rack will be installed at the location shown in the photo, and the rest of the wiring and installation work will be done.

I installed a pico motor driver and rebooter for POP in a mini-rack on the second floor.

The IP addresses of the installed pico motor driver and rebooter are as follows

POP Pico Motor Driver : 10.68.160.76
POP2 Pico Motor Driver : 10.68.160.77
POP Pico Rebooter : 10.68.160.120

Eight connectors (4ch x 2 [Pitch,Yaw]) into which the pico motor connection terminals (RJ22) can be plugged are placed on the top panel of the POP optical table.

Please connect them at the necessary timing. (Or please instruct me to connect them).

[Ikeda, Nakagaki]

We moved the pico motor drivers for the POP-POM to a mini-rack on the second floor.
At the same time, we changed the connection to the pico network and added a rebooter.

*To be precise, we assigned the pico motor driver for POP2, which was already installed in the mini-rack, for POP-POM and removed the old driver.

The IP addresses of the POP and POP-POM pico motor drivers and rebooters after the work was done are as follows

POP Pico Motor Driver : 10.68.160.76
POP-POM Pico Motor Driver : 10.68.160.77
POP&POP-POM Pico Rebooter : 10.68.160.120

The 2 channels (pitch and yaw) on the vacuum side are online, but the 2 channels (pitch and yaw) on the atmospheric side are not connected, and there is a connector on the top panel of the POP optical table.

Please connect them when necessary.
(or ask me to connect them).

Added note on the resistance of the modular cable installed in POP,POS

The 4wire modular cable (8m) used for wiring from the mini-rack to the POP and POS tables was found to have a high resistance value.
(This was discovered while making a branch cable from Dsub using the same cable)

The resistance was about 10 times higher than the cables previously custom-ordered from NewFocus.
Used for POP and POS : about 1 [Ω/m]
NewFocus cable : about 0.1 [Ω/m]

Tests have confirmed that the pico motor works even with three of these cables connected in series (24m in total).

After consulting with Ushiba-san, I have decided to take the following actions
1.The replacement will not be made since there seems to be no problem with the operation.
2.Prepare a replacement cable just in case.

Since off-the-shelf modular cables do not specify even the wire resistance value, I purchase a cable with the same specifications as the NewFocus cable in long-wound cable to make a replacement cable.
