Shield base plates for the IMC suspensions

K. Tanaka, Akutsu

Installed the shield base plates to the MCo and MCe suspension structures. For MCi, it has been done in Feb (15916). See also JGW-T2012382.

  • For both of the suspensions, the bundy connector supports were slightly interfered against the shield base plates, so we loosen the fixing screws for them to adjust slightly their positions (Before: Fig. 1, After: Fig. 2).
  • After our work, we found the beam profile at MCE_TRANS was flashing very higher order modes. And the oplev signals suggested that our work varied the suspension alignment. So we adjust the MCe, MCo, and MCi alignment with the corresponding picomotors. While the pico-ing, we found that sometimes the polarity of the pico was inversed... sometimes not moved, and sometimes pitch and yaw were mixed. As a lesson we learned, one needs to open the following windows to see at least:
    • The pico driver itself
    • MCE_TRANS GigE camera
    • Oplev trend ndscope to be moved
    • and?
  • By the way MCe's IM seems close to its RM (Fig. 3).
  • There was a M6(?) screw left on the pillar of the MCe suspension (Fig. 4), but it was in the way of our work, we detached it.
