Setup of F3

[Takahashi, Sato, Horiuchi]

  1. Released the BF. The height of F3 was 70mm.
  2. Released the kyestone of F3.
  3. The coil bobbins had touched each other. The horizontal position of LVDT-ACT coil was adjusted.
  4. Calibrated the LVDT in F3 (see plot #1).
  5. Tuned the BF at the mid point (41mm in height) of FR (see plot #2). Base weight was Original+4.748kg.
  6. Fiexd the ballast masses on the BF cup.
  7. Checked the range of FR (see plot #3).
  8. Fixed the keystone.

Could you fit your measurement again? or  give your measurement data to me?

The calibration factor from count to um given by your measurement has big different from the current one (2618) as bellow;

  • your factor : 1/-3563*1000 = -0.2806 um/count
  • current one : 1/-1633*1000 = -0.6212 um/count

Your new factor is half smaller than the current one.

According to Takahashi-san, because we operate the F3 keystone from 68 mm to 70 mm we use this new factor. Thanks.

GAS-LVDT noise of F3 is higher than that of BF by twice.

The sensor noise is measured when the keysotne was fixed at the nominal position as we had done for BF in klog#15803.

I compare the noises of F3 and BF in an attached figure. Red and black lines show the noises of F3 and BF, respectivly. Solid and dashed lines show the LVDT sensor noise and ADC noise.
Blue line is given by eyeball fit with the measured ADC noises. As you see, the sensor noise of the F3 (red solid line) is higher than that of BF (black solid line) by about twice.
