Brief report on the calculation of the amount of displacement sensor noise injected back by the feedback system.

This is a very brief status report. I will update it with more detail as results become available.

  • The goal is to prove the system fulfills the vibration isolation requirement
  • I'm modifying Takanori's Simulink/Matlab software.
  • See the document attached with the comparison  between the simulation and the measurement.
  • Currently, the simulation of the TFs without feedback coincides with the measurement to a good extent.
    • The quality factors don't coincide in many of the peaks but I guess this is expected because in Matlab we can only model viscous damping, not structural damping.
    • Some peaks don't coincide exactly (e.g. 20 mHz difference).
    • Above 60 Hz there are additional peaks which likely come from the internal resonances of the IRM.
  • Despite the differences, for the purposes of calculating the injected noise the simulation is likely good enough.
  • Before tuning the Matlab model to fit the measurements, I compared the simulated TFs with SUMCOM achieving a good agreement.
