Today, in parallel with TMSX-VIS installation (klog6309), we performed following works.
# Electronics borad installation
The second geophone destributor (S1605511) was installed into TMSX rack.
Actually, that was the last piece of our original board schematic plan.
As a result, in TMSX rack, we have,
- 2 HP coildrivers (6242, 6243),
- 1 LVDT driver (7787),
- 1 LVDT-ACT distributor (3683),
- 2 geophone distributors (2167, 5511),
- 1 BNC-Dsub converter (ADC) (8806),
- 3 whitening filters (8652, 8653, 8654).
Note that for a while we use 2 HP coildrivers and 3 whitening filter boards with Out Config Boards not BIO from IO chassis in EX0.
This is because TMSX rack is far from EX0 rack and we do not have any long Dsub 37pin cable.
# Cables installation between EX0 and TMSX rack
Since TMSX rack is about 35-m far from EX0 rack, we should cable between them with long cables.
(TMSX rack does not have IO chassis.)
At least, we need 14 Dsub (9pin) cables (for ADC and DAC in TMS) and 2 LAN cables (for gigE camera on TMS bench).
However, about Dsub (9pin), we did not have 35-m long cables.
Thus we decided to use 20 m + 15 m (for ADC) and 30 m + 5 m (for DAC) cables with a Dsub connector at this moment.
So, at first, we shoud have to hack the Dsub connector.
We replaced screws and so on following suggestion from Kamiizumi-san and Shimode-san (Thank you!).
Then we made 14 35-m-long Dsub (9pin) cables.
For now, 2 LAN cables and 4 of the Dsub cables were connected between EX0 and TMSX rack due to the lack of time.
Actually, since the 2 LAN cables were 30 m, we should expand them.
Note that, since the cable ladder lies just under the 2nd floor of EXC booth, we need help from engineers in this cabling work.
(Today, Tamori-san and Yoshimura-san helped us, thank you!)
Tomorrow, we will connect the rest long cables.
Also, we will connect TMSX rack and EXT chamber and check the signals from TMSX-VIS.
