BF stepper motor step size caibration.

[Kozu, Fabian, Mark, Hirata]

This entry corresponds to a measurement done more than a couple of weeks ago. Please see related entries 4170 and 4153.

We measured by how much the stepper motor shaft moves in terms of number of steps given in the software. For this measurmeent we used the Python script described in the manual but it seems now there is a medm screen for this. The motor shaft is a M6 screw with a 1 mm per revolution pitch.

The result was -51,078 steps/mm as can be seen the plot attached to this entry. The data is also uploaded.

We also measured the usable range of the BF Keystone with the BF Stepper motor.

This is by how much the keystone can be moved in terms of number of steps given to the BF Stepper motor.

Note: The usable range is only around  +-600[um] which is not too much. We may need to test this feature beforehand for SR3 and SRM.
