Acoustic injection (RELF, PSL)

[YokozaWashimi]

Today we did the acoustic injection.

This is the log.

This is a very preliminary result of the PEM projection derived from the swept sine acoustic injection @ REFL.

The projected acoustic noise in the DARK has small structures unnaturally.

One possibility of this reason is the spectrum of microphone.

Even though the DAC amplitude was constant (200 counts) during this measurement, the enverop of the injected peaks is not flat.

I checked the interesting channels for 116Hz acoustic injection.

no harmonics, no side-band, no frequency conversion was detected in the PEM channels and IMC oplevs.

I compared the results of the POEM projection @ PR booth sound, between new and old methods. (top: new / bottom : old)

They are about similar, but

  • frequency resolution becomes worse (due to the measurement time for each frequency)
  • evaluated frequency range becomes wider
  • overestimation (background < projected) looks to be reduced

I tested my analysis result by applying this response function to the white noise injected data.

  • black : background strain data
  • blue : white noise injected  strain data
  • red : projected strain by the responce function and white noise injected  MIC data

It looks good, but not perfect...
