Installing the BRT-Y

Uraguchi, Takahashi (ICRR), Nakata, K. Tanaka, Simon, Akutsu in the morining

We have successfully installed the BRT on the TMS-VIS in the EYT chamber. (Fig 6 and 7)

  • Firstly, after releasing screws that were fixing feet of the BRT optical table, we set four slings with shuckles to the eyebolts on the BRT optical table (Fig. 1); those setup were used to take out the BRT from the chamber (see 9083).
  • We carefully dealt with the slings so that the sligns won't touch to any optics or the covers. Actually, be careful.
  • Then we craned the optical table up. The most concern of us was about positioning pins, which were used to determine the position and alignment (to some extent) of the BRT optical table on the fixed table. We were not sure whether the pins could be smoothly detached from the craned optical table so that the optical table was separated from the fixed table. Actually, at the first trial of craining, the fixed table was not removed from the optical table and followed it to be float a bit crying. After doing some jambo-manbo-ing (shaking a bit the optical table by me and Uraguchi-san and/or pushing-pulling the opposite sides...), we separated the BRT optical table to be free seprated from the fixed table (Fig. 2).
  • Moving the craned payload (BRT optical table) just above the EYT chamber, we lowered the payload into the chamber. Again, we did jambo-ing to make it sit down on the top surface of the TMS-VIS having two positioning pins. Without changing the pin-accepting plates, we were able to installed itcheeky (Fig. 3).

The center pin and rotational pin are shown in Fig 4 and 5, respectively.
