The assembled high power beam dump (BD) was tested in the PSL room with 20W power. It worked fine, at least, it didn't clack or anything in 1 hour.
Since the thermometer hasn't delivered yet (^1), I checked the temperature of the BD every 15 mins by touching. In the first 15 mins, the BD was worm. Maybe 40 deg C. After 30mins, the BD was somewhat hot, but can keep touching with the rubber gloves (so, maybe 50-60 deg C?). After 45 mins, it was very hot, I couldn't keep touching it at all. From what I felt, the heat from SiC plates to the copper holder conducted. - Sorry for not being very scientific!
^1: A thermometer is planned to be delivered on the day we close the IMM chamber, so we have no time to test with the thermometer or with the heat links. So this non-quantitative test is only what we can try before the next pump.
