This is a report from AOS' point of view! A separat report will be given later by the CRY-group (I think)
Today, the HL-VIS towers were installed into the IYC cryostat.
Due to the fact that I came just before midday, I actually could just witness the installation of the one right above the WAB. The one on the other side was already installed in the morning. The WAB itself was set to its "saving mode" last month by us (AOS).
Anyway, the installation went quickly and without any problems (the procedure is already quite sophisticated).
As for savety (for the WAB), we used an Aluminum bar installed above the WAB on the T-beams which we usually use for the traverser and covered the rest of the WAB with a sheet of Al foil.
The tower first was set on the optical table and then lifted between WAB and the upper (payload) traverser-bars. Two person hold the tower while a third on screwed the tower on the ceiling.
Finally, Yamada-san and Takahashi-san (CRY) connected the heat-links and some thermometers (the foil was still on top of the WAB).
