Transport to IYC
- we used the crane in the center area to take the WAB out of the box and put it on a cart
- Then, we somehow managed to bring the WAB to the +X entrance of the IYC clean-booth and used our hands to bring the WAB inside the clean-booth to put it onto the table
- We opened the wrapping and re-attached the magnet-dampers (this time, due to the separation we did in Mitaka, the magnets were still in place)
-
After that, we used the usual procedure to bring the WAB inside the chamber:
- First the upper-part is detached from the base
- Then, the base is being brought inside the chamber and fixed on the optical table (in the nominal position)
- Two persons bring the upper-part to the chamber's entrance where it is taken-over by the other two persons (the most difficult part is during the take-over as at the entrance, the space is very limited)
- At last, the upper-part is re-attached with the base
Height and Pitch Alignment
- we removed the protectors and placed a laser-level at the entrance-flange of the chamber
- Then, we took a measurement of the height of the baffle-center in its fixed state for confirmation ( → 270mm)
-
After we released the baffle, we took this measurement again
- → 269.3mm (that is quite close to the nominal height at room-temperature and as expected)
- Then, we went further to check also the pitch of the baffle (started on the +X side) and found ~1mm pitch (difference of the laser-level at the two baffle-shipping-lock-brackets). However, to our curiosity, we did not find this pitch on the -X side... While this is maybe not so important for the baffle's purpose, it is a strange thing thinking of stiff baffle and wires (which were all straight and spanned) fixed at 4 different points in a plane...
This is still unresolved! Will continue tomorrow!!
