Transporting the BRT and the TMS-VIS to EXT

On Sept 19, 2018

Uraguchi, T. Suzuki, Furuta, Nakada, Tamori, Yoshimura, K. Nagano, K. Tanaka (ICRR), N. Fujii (Niigata U), Akutsu

Received the delivered BRT (beam reducing telescope) and TMS-VIS (vibration isolation stage of transmission monitor) at the New Atotsu Entrance (Fig 1). Then we brought each of them to the Xend in the following manner:

  • The TMS-VIS was packed on a pallet in originally Mitaka (Fig 3), so it was brought by a folklift to the Xend.
  • The wooden box that contains the BRT was surprisingly just fit to the light-weight trcuk (electric) (Fig 2), so we used the truck to the Xend's parking area, where the load was picked up by the folklift, and brought into the Xend room's entrance. Then off on the bishamon.
  • The other several boxes including the ones for geophones were loaded on the T-3 (Fig 4), and brought to the Xend.

Considering the order of installation from now on, the BRT's wooden box was brought into the room firstly. The wooden box should go throught two clean booths (for EXA and EXC). In the EXA clean booth, there was a relatively soft tunnel. We forced to widen the size of the legs of the tunnel so that the wider wooden box, which was on the bishamon, could go through. After that, the wooden box was wrapped by plastic films, and wiped, then we brought it through the clean booth for EXC (Fig 5, 6). There were several obstacles on the way, so we moved them one by one. Then the wooden box reached the goal.

Second, the pallet with the TMS-VIS was brought and put on the road close to the entrance of the Xend room. The TMS-VIS should be unloaded by the folklift later, but that needs to break the aluminum barriar againsy moisture, so the work should be done in the next day. So, the pallet and the TMS-VIS was left at the entrance of the Xend room (in the room).

At the same time, the second digital rack was delivered to the Xend (Fig 7).

By the way, the transportation company received two NABs and an empty wooden box for a WAB (will be used for the 3rd WAB), and will be delivered to Mitaka.
