WAB installation ongoing at EYC

Simon, Yano, Ken Tanaka, Akutsu; See also here.

Started the installation of WAB into the EYC chamber today.

  • Before stating the installation, we found a maraging rod is at the center of out working area (Fig 1 and 2). After discussing with Takahashi-san, VIS removed it.
  • Then, as usual, the WAB suspension structure was divided into the upper and lower parts (From Fig 3 to Fig 4).
  • Then the lower part was fixed to its nominal position on the breadboard in the chamber (Fig 5)

By the way, we found a threaded rod, which would reinforce the cooler bar, was sticking out into the aperture area of the 8-K shiled duct (Fig 10)... unfortunately it seemed to mechanically interefere against the WAB installation, we removed the threaded rod (Fig 6, 7).

  • Then we put the upper part and fixed it to the lower part (Fig 8).

In addition we measred the height of the screw holes above the heatlink sheets on the cooler bar (Fig 9) so that we can design the coolar bar bracket; it seems around 8mm?? I'm slightly worried that the M8 screw head or the washer would mechanically interefere against the heatlink sheet.

By the way, judging from Fig 1, the center of the breadboard (probably the scratches on the breadboard would show it...) is shifted from the center seal (is it ok remaining in vacuum?!) determined by a plummet (probably) from the above. As the shift is in the direction of BRT, I have hope that WAB's base plate can be set with M6 screws this time.
