NAB out of the wooden box @ IXA

Hayakawa, Nakada, Ken Tanaka, Akutsu

It was a tough work to take the NAB out of the wooden box.

  1. First, outside of the IXA clean booth, we continued to detach the neils to open some walls; the narrow side wall, the wide side wall, and the ceil were detached. Large crowbars were very useful.
  2. The actual hell started here; after the aluminum bag was teared in the wooden box, we tried to hang the NAB suspension out of the wooden box with an enigine crane SMC500H bruoght from NAOJ. But the V-shape-extended legs of the crane was intereferring against the bottom bars of the wooden box. We had two options to approach/access the box with the crane; the narrow side or the wide side. Accessing from the narrow side was impossible due to the interferrence. Even from the wide side, which was better than the narrow side, the crane neck could not sufficiently approach on the center-of-mass line of the NAB suspension due to the same reason.
  3. After several trials, we used four jacks to slightly raise the wooden box, and insert some wooden plate on the bishamon's blades under the woode box's bottom, and then we lifted up the wooden box with the bishamon; then, there became sufficient space for inserting the extended legs of the crane to approach the line of the center mass of the NAB suspension. But this was not the end of the hell.
  4. It was pretty hard to find slings with appropriate lengths, as the height limit of the crane and the NAB suspension's top is about to the same. Some slings were too long, while some others were too short; we combined the short slings with short shackles, but that was not enough.
  5. We tried to fully lower the bishamnon, but still the NAB suspension was not fully hung; finally we slightly supported the wooden box with the bishamon again, and strongly pulled the wooden box so that the NAB suspension lost its floor.
  6. Then, it got hung.

Now we learned what were the points to be modified in the process, but I have no idea how to do so...

Anyway, the NAB suspension was lain on the floor with the engine crane, and then it was carried into the IXA clean booth with its wheels.
