Comment to WAB test cooling (4859)

Using today's temperature data, and assuming some heat resistance and some heat offset, I made an example of "fitting" plot. The black points are the measured data, while the salmon points are the calculation based on (and modified slightly) Yamada-kun's master thesis; to fit the black and the salmon, the heat resistance was 11.5 K/W, and the heat offset was 0.59W, where 2x0.1W inputs assumed from both of the duct shield is included.

Actually there are several assumptions and unknown parameters, so this is just an example. And the "fitting" was done by my handy try-and-error way.

  • It seems, the cooling rate is rather related to heat resistance, while
  • the steady temperature is rather related to heat offset.
  • But those both parameters and the effects are not fully independent; more or less related.
  • Probably as I used so-called explicit method to solve the differential equation, the plots are generally sensitive to the parameters! Playing around more sophisticated software package would be better.

The yellowgreen points are just assuming just the heat links.
