Ushiba, Miyamoto, Izumi,
We are done with the installation of the baffle PDs including the photodiodes, cables and everything at EYC.
We confirmed that the photo currents were acquired to the digital system through the ADCs.
In this morning, we placed an adapter box which changes the cable type from burndy to DB9 on top of the cable tray by the TMSY chamber. Then we laid a 20 m Dsub from there to the K1EY0 rack on the tray. We originally were going to install a QPD interface whitening chasis to the rack, but it turned out that there had already been another unit with no cables connected. So we decided to use this unit instead of the one we brought from the electronic shop.
Also, we noticed that the Kepco unit was providing 15 volts only, as opposed to 18 volts. So we pulled the voltage up to 18 volts. Then we installed the hacked circuit (3958) which is now directly mounted to the DB15 input of the whitening chassis. The DB9 cable from the cable tray is connected to the hacked circuit. Also, the we double-checked that the reverse bias of the circuit was 3 volts as designed by using a voltmeter at the rack.
The whitening chassis was then connected to the AA chassis via a 2 m DB9 cable. The leftmost input (ch1-4) of the AA chassis is used for it.
Finally, we did an end-to-end test where Myamoto-kun illuminated each baffle PD with a flush light at a time. We confirmed that all the PD signal were successfully acquired to the digital system by looking at the corresponding digital signals.
