F1 was extracted

Takahashi, Sato, Sugiyama, Miyo

Today, we extracted F1 filter.

  • First, we removed the Magnetic Damper after we took out the cables around it
  • Next, we took out the cable around the F1. Then we found that the release sensor was not in contact with the bottom of the F1, because the sensor was bumping against the cable tie that was fixed to the bottom of the F1. This could be the reason why one of the F1's three release sensors was not blinking when the GAS filter was seated in #klog15372. (Please go to the picture in the web link).
  • (Incidentally, Takahashi-san and Sato-san had gone to the first floor to pull out the 3.3m wire of the Payload when we remove the cables around the F1)
  • In order to extract the F1, we had to remove the wire that hangs the F2 from the F1, but the F2 wasn't seated sufficiently, so we were able to remove the wire by securing the bottom and sides with an EQ stopper and then pushing the F2 up with the stopper on the bottom. Incidentally, reason why only one release sensor on the F2 was blinking in klog#15372 is  probably due to the fact that the F2 was not seated sufficiently.
  • We took the F1 out and put it straight into the box. The weight of F1 was 90.2 kg according to Takahashi-san's memo in the photos.
  • It was five o'clock, so we finished the work for today.

Tomorrow we will only be able to work in the morning, so I think we will just finish removing the F2 cable. We should be able to remove the F2 out early next week.
