WAB moving at IXC

Hirata, Yano, Akutsu + help Ushiba, Yamada

Started to move the WAB at IXC back in saving mode.

  • We unpacked the old WAB traverser jig and checked if there were any missing parts. About the WAB traverser, there were no missing parts, but we found that some screws for WAB suspension fixing were disappeared.
  • So we washed some screws for the purpose
  • And we found the traverser would interfere against some heat links from the heat link suspension to the cryopayload. Ushiba-kun and Yamada-kun helped to detach them to make the way that the traverser could move.

Hirata, Yano, Akutsu

Finished the WAB moving to the position in saving mode (Fig 1 and 2).

  • Fixed the WAB suspended part with the triangle protectors. A thermometer on the WAB suspension structure was fixed to a screw hole to be used for the protector, so the thermometer was detached.
  • Detach the 6N Al heat links and the adapter block to the cooling bar.

Then, we started the WAB moving.

  • We adjusted the height of two foot blocks to be set for the WAB when it is in saving mode before hunging the WAB.
  • We slightly hung the WAB up and detach the clamps (slightly one by one) that are fixing the WAB base plate.
  • We moved the WAB to the position in saving mode.

FInally I pulled pins of thermometers for the WAB one by one out from the burndy connector, and pushed them into a PEEK connector (Fig 3 and 4). Then I and Ushiba-kun checked their connectivirty; that was ok.

Note that the adaptor block for the 6N Al heat links is the old one (Fig 5 and 6). We need to replace it. I looked for the new one but could not find it in the office... so it maybe in the tunnel?
